Every year, team 2713 hosts a state qualifier called "The Red Hawk Rumble" for the First Lego League at Melrose Middle School in the beginning of December. Due to high demand from the teams, we increased our event size from 24 to 30 teams. This event, previously called The "Raiders Rumble" is continually cited by FLL coaches as one of the best events This year's competition was an extreme success, and 9 teams advanced to the next competition. We look forward to seeing all of our competitors again next year!
This event, run by Melrose High's FRC Robotics Team, called "Red Hawk Robotics", couldn't happen without the commitment of our high school robotics students and mentors. We are also supported by an amazing set of volunteers from our community and local companies, such as Raytheon, Salesforce, and Google, who help judge the cool innovation projects that teams bring to the competition.
This event is supported by a grant from Mass Cultural Council at the convergence of STEAM. Participating teams user science skills to invite new solutions for this world and then present them using media, skits, on stage performances in front of a very large crowd.
